Amputation claims

Amputations may sometimes be a necessary medical procedure that can be life-saving, however, if they are a cause of medical negligence or an accident that wasn’t your fault, you will be eligible to claim compensation for your damages.

Spinal Injury Claims

The spine is one of the most important parts of your body, it carries information to and from the brain, and if damaged can lead to permanent damage and even paralysis. Injuries to the back or neck can lead to spine injuries, and if you have experienced a spinal injury due to no fault of your own, we highly advise that you contact one of our experienced solicitors at Belmont Solicitors.

Brain injuries

Injuries to your head can lead to detrimental brain injuries. Just like spine injuries, brain injuries can lead to permanent or fatal damage, and can even lead to full or partial paralysis and cognitive problems. If you have experienced a brain injury due to no fault of your own, we highly advise that you contact one of our experienced personal injury solicitors at Belmont Solicitors.

Here at Belmont Solicitors, we understand that experiencing a serious injury can have a truly detrimental impact on an individual’s life. These types of injuries are also known as catastrophic injuries and may require individuals who faced them to make life alterations which can be tough and expensive. If you have experienced a serious injury, we highly advise you to contact one of our experienced solicitors and get a free initial consultation now.

How long after a Serious Injury can I claim?

In Scotland, you can claim for your Serious Injuries for up to three years after the occurrence.

If you are under the age of 16, this time limit does not apply; your parent or guardian can claim at any moment until the age of 16 in Scotland. After the child turns 16, you can claim up to three years from their 16th birthday.

There as some exceptions during which the time limit does not apply, for example, due to health or mental health issues.

    • Belmont solicitors have been assisting me with an injury claim from a car accident I was in earlier this year. They have been excellent throughout making sure I am aware of everything that’s been going on and providing me with all the information I need to make informed decisions. The outcome has been fantastic and I have been treated with integrity and care throughout. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

    • The team at Belmont has been great. They went through the information with me as often as I needed to understand all the legal bits and feel comfortable proceeding. I was given an update as soon as it was available, which meant I didn’t have to constantly call - which in my experience is not always the case with solicitors. Overall very happy with the service received.
